Armstrongs Vintage Emporium in Edinburgh has been a mecca for vintage lovers for years. Popped in briefly today and bought a pair of snakeskin heels that will look just fab with my grey skinny jeans.
So many beautiful dresses to admire….sadly most of the really desirable ones with delicate beading and buttery satins were not for sale….

As we were walking along the harbour, the fisherman said hello to me. I wish I had asked him if I could take his portrait as he was resting. The moment passed and he and I walked separate ways.
I love the contrast between the aged and rusty pots, the vibrant buoys and the rare blue winter sky.

We bundled in the van, lunched at the Noodle bar, mucked around on the beach walking the dog, collecting shells along the way. A hot coffee and butter tablet to warm us up before heading home.

I took this image about 18 months ago, so I guess cheating a little……but the last few days have been busy with work and daylight has been thin on the ground. I really wanted to keep up the momentum of regular posting.
The original of this image was vibrant and the subject Hannah, was wearing a bright pink short shift dress, which she looked amazing in. I love this image in black and white though, particularly the way the natural light from a window is falling on her face.

Nothing better than to blow the cobwebs away on these short dark days than getting wrapped up and heading to the coast with a good friend. I hadn’t been along the East coast in a while and had forgotten how much I loved the landscape. Sand dunes melting away to flat sand and beautiful light, despite the grey skies and rain……

Storms have been battering the South and East coast of Britain, and floods have caused damage inland – but here at Gullane on the East coast of Scotland all was calm and serene.
