Simply Sunday……Lettering

DSC_0125I spent Sunday afternoon in Edinburgh on a photo shoot.  It was windy, rainy and generally bleek for the most part.  I chose an alley as our location – I figured it would be sheltered, relatively free of people and provided some interesting street backdrops.  Old buildings provide such beauty and this lettering on Edinburgh’s Topshop building is intriguing, simple and to me – beautiful.

Mixed Metallics

DSC_1232 DSC_1239I love the gold accessories worn here by Edinburgh blogger Aghogho.  I like the mix of silver and gold and the different shapes and dynamics of the way they all compliment each other.

Rings – Topshop, ASOS and Primark

Simply Sunday…..Study

DSC_0075Mia has been unwell the last few days.  She has taken back to her bed to study Spanish. I have a hangover from last nights antics.  I will sit on the end of her bed and test her knowledge, nursing a cup of tea.

In-between Parties

DSC_0008-2 DSC_0002-4 DSC_0009-3Last night saw the first of one of two birthday celebrations taking place in my house this weekend.  Last night Mia had a few of the girls in to celebrate one of their birthdays – with pizza, marshmallow toppers, bubbles and lots of teenage chat. I love seeing everyone having a good time. This afternoon I will be getting ready for the second – my friend is turning 50 and the bubbles this time will be champagne, my favourite.

I love the spaces in-between.  Decorations from the night  before. Anticipation of the night to come.

The Portrait Session….#11 10 second shoot

DSC_1597-2Teenagers can be hard to pin down.  Literally a ten second shoot, making the most of the available natural light.  The days…. whilst getting colder, have been getting longer.  I’m aching for warmer weather and brighter skies…..

Reflecting…..

DSC_1660The past week or so has been a funny one…..I am (semi) back at work and I have been unwell.  When not at work I have filled my days with housework, having a good clear out, meeting new clients for a wedding in the Summer , catching up with friends, planning a surprise party for a friend…but I feel an emptiness and unfulfilled.  I have spent too much time reflecting and not looking forward – the downside of spending too much time on my own.

I have another week before I am full on in the throws of work and will not be able to come up for air… I need to spend this time wisely and re-focus not reflect.
