Profile…..Images Re-worked

The past few weeks have been silly busy with my full time photography job.  I  am literally in bed at nine thirty most evenings. No fun. Bags under eyes and as David keeps pointing out – I looked like a washed out rag. Selling it to you eh? Daily yoga has gone by the wayside and chocolate has come out in full force (four Easter eggs down – that didn’t belong to me).

I have quite a few shoots lined up for the Easter holidays and hope to be experimenting with a bit of analogue photography as well, with my (new to me) Olympus OM 1 – birthday present, Mothers Day and Valentines all rolled into one.

Whilst cataloguing some of my images – I took another look at profiles, reworked them a little  in VSCO (also new to me).

Preparing Strawberries…..

Testing out lights and cables after a few months break from studio photography in preparation for going back to work.  I used my EM-1 instead of my work Nikon as wanted to see how it performed in a studio setting. It over exposed by one stop, but now I know.  Katie very kindly modelled for me. On her birthday as well.  Afterwards I helped her make chocolate covered strawberries.

Frost, Woodland and The Muffler

Here in Scotland it is frosty with a capital F.  Mia was keen to wear her new headgear, which I’ve aptly named “The Muffler” and was willing to have some shots taken. A win-win all round.

We are so fortunate to have this country park literally on our doorstep. It was quiet this morning – only  the odd dog walker, so we almost had the place to ourselves.  Cold set in quick, Mia’s nose was starting to go red (not being one for photoshop or a moaning teenager)  – we headed home after 20 minutes or so.

The Portrait Session #26…Softer

These ones of Katie during the same shoot but different location in Edinburgh this time are softer, less edgy. Again, I have used this location a couple of times as I love the way the light falls in the arches.

Today has been busy photography wise too –  I covered a local charity event and had a very mini shoot (at the event) with a tiny gorgeous  girl called Emily.  I stuck with my 12-40mm lens today too. It’s growing on me.

The Portrait Session #25….In The Hood

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Katie and I went to Edinburgh to take some shots for her college project. We managed, as us girls do, to squeeze in a rather nice lunch and a bit of shopping along the way. This shot was taken at the rooftop terrace of the Museum, one of my favourite locations.  I used my 12-40mm lens on my Olympus OM-D EM-1 – I think I prefer shooting with a prime, rather than zoom.

The Portrait Session….#11 10 second shoot

DSC_1597-2Teenagers can be hard to pin down.  Literally a ten second shoot, making the most of the available natural light.  The days…. whilst getting colder, have been getting longer.  I’m aching for warmer weather and brighter skies…..
